Golf in the Yard:
We were delighted to receive golf equipment from Golf Ireland, which has allowed our pupils to experience golf during PE lessons. The children have really enjoyed learning the basic skills of the game and practicing them in the school yard. It has been a fantastic opportunity to introduce a new sport and develop coordination, focus, and teamwork.
Marathon4Kids:
Our 5th and 6th class pupils had a wonderful day out at Santry Athletics Track taking part in Marathon4Kids. Throughout the year the children worked hard building up their distance, and the event finished with the exciting final mile on the track. It was a great achievement for everyone involved and a very enjoyable day for the pupils.
The Leprechaun Cup:
Each year we take part in the Leprechaun Cup, an annual cricket competition against local schools. The pupils always look forward to this event and enjoy the chance to compete, develop their cricket skills, and represent our school. It is a fantastic day of sport and friendly competition.
Santry Athletics:
We had a fantastic day at the Santry Athletics event, where our pupils competed in a variety of track and field activities including sprints, long-distance relay, the 4 × 100 metre relay, long jump, high jump, and shot putt. The children showed great effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
Tennis:
Our pupils have been busy practicing their tennis skills in the school yard. Recently, they also had the exciting opportunity to visit the new tennis courts at the Sport Ireland Campus for their official opening ceremony. It was a wonderful experience for the children and a great way to promote tennis in our school.
Football at the Sport Ireland Campus:
Our pupils had an amazing opportunity to play football in the Astro Dome at the Sport Ireland Campus, where they were coached by members of the FAI coaching team. It was a fantastic experience for the children to play in such a professional environment and to learn new skills from experienced coaches.
Tag Rugby Blitz:
Coolmine Rugby Club kindly invited our pupils to take part in a Tag Rugby Blitz. The children had a thrilling day of games, showing great teamwork, enthusiasm, and determination. It was a brilliant day of sport and fun for everyone involved.
5-A-Side Football Blitz:
Both boys and girls from 5th and 6th class represented our school at a 5-A-Side Football Blitz in Hartstown FC. Across the two teams they achieved fantastic results, winning 7 games, drawing 1, and losing just 2. It was a very successful day, and we are extremely proud of their teamwork and effort. Well done to all involved!
