3rd class were very busy this week. We carried out an experiment involving mixtures. The students investigated what substances mix together. The class discovered how food colouring mixes with water. However their findings revealed how oil is hydrophobic. We also concluded how the salt sank to the bottom of the container as it is more dense than oil and water.

Keep up the hard work! Ms Marriott.

Third class had an exciting time visiting the Phoenix Park for National Tree Day. We explored the different types and parts of a tree, trees as habitats and what they need to grow. I am very proud of everyone. You can see our class and hear all about it on News2day on the RTE player.

We were busy learning about our lungs and the respiratory system this week. We discussed how our lungs make oxygen available to our bodies and remove other gases such as carbon dioxide. Third class also made models to investigate how our lungs work. Take a look below at all our wonderful work!
