The children in 3rd class have been very busy over the past few months.
In geography, we learned about bridges and the class wrote a wonderful piece about the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. In religion, we talked about how Jesus used stories called parables to spread the word about the Kingdom of God. We studied the planets by conducting research on the iPads. The children worked really well with their partners and produced excellent projects on their favourite planet. They wrote a persuasive piece about why a tourist should visit their planet!
In Maths, we have moved onto learning more about multiplication and division. We also had fun learning about length when we measured the school yard using a trundle wheel.
In History, we learned about Ancient Egypt and some fascinating facts about the Pyramids and Pharaohs.
The class gave a wonderful performance at assembly on Friday, 23rd January, about welcoming Spring and St. Brigid’s Day.

This week third class continued to work on letter writing, they wrote letters to Louis Braille and we began drafting a letter to a friend or relative. In SPHE we learnt about different kind of families and created our own family crest. In Geography we learnt about communities and created maps of rural and urban communities. In science we worked in pairs to created a brochure to give people tips on how to keep their bodies healthy. In drama we enjoyed playing more drama games. To finished the week we creates unique dot hands in Art and had a special PE with our buddies from this year and last year. We are very proud of Hannah for winning the cricket captain’s under 9’s medal. We also want to say a big massive well done Emie and Grace for taking part in and completing a Hell and Back race. 3rd class have had a very busy week. We really enjoyed leaning more about the Stone Age and created fantastic fact files. Art this week was inspired by the Stone Age and we created beautiful Stonehenge paintings. In science we were learning all about the organs in the human body. In English we were reading all about Louis Braille and started learning about letter writing. We are working extremely hard on our Gaeilge. We enjoyed acting out drama scenes as Gaeilge. In Drama we worked on creating freeze frames in groups based on activities we completed over the summer. A big highlight from this week was meeting our buddies in 2nd class, we spent time getting to know each other and drawing portraits of one another. Have a super weekend 😃


























3rd Class have settled in really well and are so enthusiastic and eager to learn and . We have really enjoyed getting to know each other and learning the new classroom routines. 3rd class worked together to create group table names and played games to build on their team building skills. They have been working really hard at using their oral Irish and completed an Irish activity all about themselves ‘Mise’. They wrote about their wonderful Summers. In history we started learning about the ‘Stone Age’. We really enjoyed developing our basketball skills out in PE. To finish the week we took part in a collaborative art activity based on the book ‘The Dot’. We are looking forward to another fun week next week. Maith sibh rang a Trí 😃
